This is a learning experience for me. It’s my second blog and an attempt to create a space that closely reflects my thoughts and concerns about educating the 21st Century citizens.
I have read that during the turn of 20th century, over one hundred years ago, changes were coming so quickly, most of the world’s residents were unaware of what was coming. To think that in 1900, many of the inventions that would be the 20th century inventions were already designed and waiting for production and distribution. By the mid-century point (1950s), people stored food in refrigerators, used telephones to communicate from long distances, used electrical appliances and lighting, produce televised programming and drove automobiles.
Here we are again, at the beginning of the 21st century. I can’t count all the new technologies available today. These new inventions will change more of how we do what we do, including educating the next generation, as well as those from previous generations. The possibilities are limitless. I am going to use this site to explore all that is currently available. I am not an expert. I am an explorer eager to see what is beyond the horizon. So please join me on this journey. –elm

Hi Esther! I saw the link to your blog from the list of NY blogs on AllTogetherNow… every time I see someone from NYC I get more excited about this project. Good luck with your blog!

Thanks. I am also excited about this experience. I have so much to learn. I am just starting to catch up with Web 2.0 tools. Last Tuesday, I want to a Web 2.0 workshop. I had so much fun and learned alot about what is available in the world of web. I feel so far behind. I am just going to keep up with this until I am as comfortable as I can be.
In the workshop I attended, I worked with a couple of other people on creating documents on Google Docs. It was different. While I was working on the document, it would change and become a truly group work.
Thanks for visiting. –e
